I was out catching up with a few close friends when we were talking about those ‘monster shakes’ which everyone was going crazy for. These monster shakes which are pretty much milkshakes with an extreme sweet twist to it are going crazy in Canberra, and have now been introduced at many cafes in Sydney. XS espresso is one place which everyone has been raving about. It took me a couple minutes to register the fact that this cafe was located in Wetherill Park, a place within the South West region of Sydney. Exactly ! Not even inner west or even Surry Hills.
So I ventured out to this local area with an old mate to explore the area. We stumbled across The Factoria, with quite a vibrant, vintage bicycle sitting next to the cafe’s sign.
And since it was a Sunday, we thought why not ?!
The Factoria offers a variety of sweet and savory pastries as well as Gelato (left side of the photograph below)
The cafe also sells a variety of packed foods. I didn’t go up close to check out the products but there definitely is a huge range (the whole wall)
I’ve only ever had either vanilla, cream cheese or even chocolate so this was quite interesting. But I really enjoyed this, a bit of lemon is always great!
(tangy lemon cannoli)
To my surprise the cafe also serves cronuts as well! Offering 3 different flavours:
Didn’t have the stomach to eat 2 cronuts in one go so I bought it home to eat. Unfortunately, food is never as great when you leave it for a couple hours so it is too difficult to make a judgement on how well it is.
But this place is definitely an interesting new place which locals should make a visit to! It’s not every day you have a cafe close by in the West.
