The Boathouse, Palm Beach

What better way to spend a nice and sunny day in Winter than to spend it at Palm Beach! This particular day was great as the weather was perfect, it wasn’t too hot or too cold.

Our aim for the day was just to visit The Boathouse restaurant as well as taking a short stroll along Palm Beach. However, as the day continued on, we realised we had done more than we had initially planned for.

Palm Beach is approximately 45kms (approx. 1 hr drive) north from Sydney CBD. One of the most popular restaurants there in Palm Beach with a perfect view is The Boathouse, which is also located in 2 other locations: Balmoral Beach, Whale Beach with one soon to be opened at Shelly Beach, each opening at 7am in the morning and finishing up the day at 4pm.

After the food, we decided to take a stroll around the area in which we soon discovered that there was a trail to take to the Barrenjoey Lighthouse. The walk is amazing, however I highly recommend only doing the walk if you’re not on the extreme lower end of having a fear of heights as this walk is quite steep.  However, it’s definitely satisfying once you reach the top as it is an approximate 20 min walk up after all the huffing and puffing as well as taking photos.

Palm Beach is definitely worth a day of exploration! I’d definitely come back and enjoy the scenery and the walk. There’s definitely heaps to explore within this area and heaps more items on the menu to try!
